Stokemonkey throttles

These are throttle styles available for use with Stokemonkey. They work by moving a little magnet in proximity to a sensor, with a spring return to zero. It's a more robust design electrically than friction-wiper types whose contacts corrode, but the material quality is regrettably a bit flimsy. For example, overtightening the set screw will distort the body and cause the throttle to stick, which can be dangerous. These throttles fit only 7/8" OD handlebars, not the 15/16" of road-style bars. In most cases the choice will be driven by shifter and brake layout and type as explained below. People who like the twist type cite clean ergonomics and ease of keeping the throttle engaged for extended periods. People who like the thumb style cite compactness and ease of maintaining less-than-full throttle positions.

Split-twist style, available in left and right-side versions. The left-side version is recommended for best compatibility with conventional US brake/shifter layout. Not compatible with twist-style shifters; you can substitute a thumb- or other style front shifter instead. Some trigger-style shifters may require light filing to clear the throttle body.
Thumb style. Not generally compatible with trigger-style shifters. Take care to assure that the paddle cannot catch on anything, like an adjacent twist shifter body! Available in both left and right-mount versions. If you choose right-mount, you should run your brakes English/moto style, with the rear brake on the left for best control with this style.
This is the left-side version of the thumb throttle. Note that the wire exit angle is a bit odd (off the top) when the thumb paddle is at rest.
This measure is the same with the split-twist style.
